News from January 24.

The NBA named Steve Francis (Hou) as Player of the Week.  Francis averaged
22.3 points, 9.8 assists, and 5.5 rebounds as Houston went 4-0.

The NBA fined Oliver Miller (Pho) $7,500 and suspended him for 1 game for
throwing a forearm at Andre Miller (Cle) during Saturday's Cle-Pho game.

Michael Heisley Sr. has reached an agreement to purchase the Vancouver
Grizzlies.  The deal still needs to be finalized and must be approved by
the NBA Board of Governors.  Bill Laurie withdrew his attempt to
purchase the team a while ago after word came out that the Board of 
Governors would likely not approve the sale since Laurie would likely 
move the team to St.  Louis.

The LA Clippers reinstated Keith Closs.  They had suspended him for
missing practice.

Toni Kukoc (Chi) had 15 points on 6-18 FG and 3-11 FT, 7 rebounds, 6
assists, and 4 steals.
Elton Brand (Chi) had 28 points on 14-21 FG and 8 rebounds.
