The NBA named Dikembe Mutombo (Atl) as Player of the Week.  Mutombo
averaged 13.7 points, 19.7 rebounds, and 3 blocks as Atlanta went 2-1.
 
The NBA named Michael Dickerson (Van) to replaced Vince Carter (Tor) on
the 1999 rookie team for All-Star Saturday.  Carter was selected to
participate in the All-Star Game and, thus, will not compete in the 
rookie game.
 
Golden State named Dave Cowens as an assistant coach.

Golden State signed Sam Jacobson for the rest of the season.

Chicago signed Chris Carr for the rest of the season.

Cleveland signed Pete Chilcutt to a 10-day contract (obviously, the LA
Clippers did not sign Chilcutt to a 2nd 10-day contract).

Miami activated Rodney Buford and placed Tim James on IR with a sprained
back.

Vancouver activated Cherokee Parks and placed Antoine Carr on IR with left
quad tendinitis.

Correction: Cleveland did not sign Mark Hendrickson for the rest of the
season after his 2nd 10-day contract expired.
