Phoenix activated Gerald Brown and placed Anfernee Hardaway on IR with
plantar fasciaitis in his right foot.

Sacramento activated Jon Barry and placed Bill Wennington on IR with a
bruised lower back.

Toronto signed coach Butch Carter to a contract extension.  The extension
is reportedly worth $8 million and he is now signed through the 2002-03
season.
