News from April 20.

The NBA named Gary Payton (Sea) as Player of the Month for April.  Payton
averaged 25.4 points and 8.3 assists and Seattle went 4-6.

The NBA named Paul Silas (Cha) as Coach of the Month for April.  Charlotte
went 9-2.

The NBA named Elton Brand (Chi) and Steve Francis (Hou) as Rookies of the
Month for April.  Brand averaged 24.2 points and 10.9 rebounds.  Franics
averaged 20.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 6.9 assists as Houston went 7-3.

Mike Miller (sophomore, Florid, Florida) declared himself eligible for the 
NBA draft.
