News from April 29. Sacramento assistant coach Pete Carril suffered a minor heart attack on Saturday. He is in the hospital and will remain there until next week. Draft stuff The NBA conducted the drawings for the tie-breakers for teams that finished with the same record. The drawings help determine the draft order. The 2000 draft will take place June 28. [Note: I'm still hunting down some of the traded pick routes - it's game time so I'll work on it later. The draft order will be on my NBA page at http://www.dfw.net/~patricia/index.html and I'll include it again in the daily when the lottery takes place.] Lottery chances Team Chances (out of 1001) LA Clippers 250 Orlando [from Golden State via Chris Webber trade]* 200 Vancouver# 120 Atlanta 89 Washington@ 64 New Jersey 44 Cleveland 29 Houston& 18 Orlando [from Denver via Johnny Taylor trade]! 9 Boston! 9 Dallas 6 Orlando+ 5 Mia 91, Det 72 - at Det Clarence Weatherspoon (Mia) had 18 points including 8-11 FG and 10 rebounds.
