TRADE: In a 3 team trade, Milwaukee traded Robert Traylor, J.R. Reid, and
Vinny Del Negro and received Jason Caffey and Billy Owens; Cleveland traded
Bob Sura and received Robert Traylor and J.R. Reid; Golden State traded
Jason Caffey and Billy Owens and received Bob Sura and Vinny Del Negro.

TRADE: Miami traded Voshon Lenard and Mark Strickland to Denver for Chris
Gatling and the #37 pick of the draft.

New Jersey named Byron Scott as head coach.  Scott, who had been an
assistant in Sacramento, reportedly signed a 3 year, $6.3 million contract
with a team option for a 4th year.

Washington named Larry Drew, Johnny Bach, and Stan Jones as assistant
coaches.

Former NBA ref Darrell Garretson was sentenced to 180 days home detention,
3 years probation, and fined $5,000 for tax evasion by not reporting money
he received by downgrading 1st class airline tickets (he had earlier
pleaded guilty to the charge).

The 2000 NBA draft is tonight (Wednesday).  It will be broadcast on TNT
starting at 6 pm (Central) and the 1st pick should occur around 6:30.
