The USA Men's Basketball team defeated the Canadian Men's Basketball team in an exhibition game in preparation for the Americas Olympic tournament that will take place July 14 - 25 in Puerto Rico. The top 3 finishers in the tournament receive berths to the 2000 Olympics. USA 97, Canada 69 Kevin Garnett (USA) had 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Allan Houston (USA) had 14 points on 7-10 FG. Tom Gugliotta (Can) had 12 points and 3 steals. Rowan Barrett (Can) had 12 points. Peter Guarasci (Can) had 12 points including 3-9 FG and 5 rebounds. Steve Nash (Can) had 11 points and 9 assists.
