Mr. Robert Rink, PSYWE Symphonic Band Conductor
Robert Rink is serving his 25th year with the Puyallup School District, the last sixteen years as band director at Ferrucci Junior High School. He remains active in the WMEA Valley Region and has contributed by holding positions of president, band representative, and JH/MS honor band coordinator. He served as the band manager for the WMEA Junior All-State 2005-2007 and has presented sessions at several WMEA state conferences.
In the 2000-2002 biennium he was awarded the Valley Region “Music Educator of the Year”. In 2006 Rink received the Secondary “Teacher of the Year” award from the Puyallup School District. Under his direction, the Ferrucci Concert Band has performed at WMEA conferences, MENC Northwest Division Conference, Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, and many local band festivals. He serves as clinician and adjudicator for several contests and band festivals in the northwest area.
Mr. Rink earned his Bachelor of Music from UPS in 1986, and a Master of Arts in Music Education from PLU in 1992. He performs regularly with the South Sound Symphonic Band. He lives in Puyallup with his wife and three children.
