Announcing Mobile Post Office Society's Publication -

TRANSIT POSTMARK COLLECTOR, Volume 70, No. 3

Mobile Post Office Society's quarterly publication issue of May-July is in the mail to members.

In this issue, we feature:

• Will Keller's column on Highway Post Offices continues explaining the complicated history of the Ogden & S F WD HPO

• "Topically TPO" highlights Madagascar, with illustrations of an Ambulant cover and a stamp from the 1965 Mail Transport issue.

• "News from the Cities" focuses on San Francisco streetcars, with detailed explanations of the same postmarker being used

on different routes.

• The popular members-only mail auction of covers continues with a mini-auction of items owned by and benefitting the Society

as well as a selection of covers consigned by a long-time member. Closing date is August 7. All lots are pictured in color on

• 46 newly-reported RPO, AGT and Station postmarks are illustrated.

• The President's column spotlights MPOS participation at the August APS/ATA show, August 1-4, 2019. On Friday, MPOS Director

Frank Scheer will present an "APS On The Road" course discussing historical research techniques to document the journeys of covers.

In addition, several exhibits at the show will feature mail carried by mobile Post Offices.

• The society's annual meeting will be held at the APS Stamp Show in Omaha.

Mobile Post Office Society, founded in 1950, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the study of enroute distribution of mail, emphasizing

postal history of the USA but including information and study of operations from all countries of the world. Interested collectors can receive a
