There is an unpopular unstated socioeconomic problem with thousands of external calories (read still mostly fossil fuel calories) for each food calorie people eat in the U.S.A. This IS perilous, and IS politically ignored. Whether you like Trump's idiocy or not, his bullshit puts pressure on prices that will help push production on food using fewer external calories, provided overwhelming information to these industries are not ignored. Time we make this discussion prevalent to make sure this is maximally addressed.
On top of that, the fact that we face, in the next decades, impending calorie deficit from known temperature increases in crops that require lower temperatures to maintain present levels of production (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPfJvZ9TfPQ&t=4s) makes these clear future deficits a problem we should all have long ago been scared by, and should now take as primary to our long term survival.
