Robert Reich:
Founding Father Message, Leaving Some Stuff Out
Good message. I support this message. However, as support for ongoing
existence of the USA, it is a failure. Ethics in an inherently criminal
empire is by definition a codependency variable, and not a vision of the
future. The ONLY way to make the planet safe at this point is to break
up the United States of America, vastly reduce the totality of its
existing military, and make the resulting offshoots vastly more
representative. What Robert does not quote is the Declaration's racist
assertion against the native North American peoples that the new country
would be focused on destroying and whose land they would steal. The
world cannot continue to afford the antics of this MAGA colonialist
genocidal empire. It cannot afford continued delusion about our history.
Let's adopt good suggestions from history, but we must, to survive,
separate ourselves from crimes against humanity, whether historic ones
here in North America, or present ones in Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan,
and many other places. Just to survive, and salvage what is left of
world ecosystems, we need meticulously honest assessments of evidence.
We can no longer afford the "American" fiction.
