Instument Pod Removal & Reinstall

Remove steering wheel - Remove horn pad to access nut. remove steering nut and washer with a 27mm socket. mark wheel splines on the wheel hub and steering shaft before before removing steering wheel.

Remove lower covers - Remove 2 screws, one screw under the odometer reset button and one screw under the ignition key holding the long lower cover ( not shown ). Remove 2 bolts and 1 screw as shown to remove the lower column cover.

|
Remove switches - Remove switches by pulling knobs away from pod. Use needle nose pliers to squeeze retaining tabs together while pulling switch from pod. Disconnect switches from wiring, marking switches and plugs for reassembly. push plugs back into holes. Remove rubber ignition key bezel.

| Remove pod bolts - Remove the inboard pod mount bolt, located next to the ignition lock cylinder and outboard pod mount bolt, located behind the fog light switch, with a 5mm hex key. | |

Loosen plug - Pull plug down from clip, or pull clip from steering column.
|
|
|
|
|
Loosen pinch bolt - Loosen the column switch pinch bolt.
|
|
|
|
|
Remove pod - Pull pod and column switches aft, removing 2 plugs from column switches and working pod over ignition lock. lift pod and instument cluster, reaching around to disconnect 4 connectors ( shown with pod removed )

Reverse order to reinstall. Go To Gauges |
