Brood: the Legacy - Character Creation Guidelines
Rules
Character Point Base All Advantages and Drawbacks are at two times their original Hero Point cost/bonus. Characters are built using 3rd Edition DC Heroes RPG rules. Any other rules and questions can be submitted to the GM for inclusion at the GM's discretion. If a Player does not own a DC Heroes RPG manual, the GM has a form that the Player can fill out to create a character.
The FAQ Rules
Starting Powers, Skills, Etc. Skills In general, skills can only be known up to the level of their link attribute. They need not be linked (that decision is up to the player), but they can not exceed the link attribute in value. In addition, some skills are not permitted to starting characters (although can be learned quickly, if important to character concept). They are:

Backgroud The game world serving as background for this PBEM game is an amalgamated weave of DC Comics and Marvel Comics characters and continuity. In general, well known DC and Marvel characters first appear in the game world during the same year they were first published, and then adventure and age from there. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule to keep things interesting and keep certain characters available in prime crime fighting shape. To give credit where due, this game world is based on a suggestion (and allegedly, his own game) by Aaron Allston back in the early 1970's. My particular implemntation of the idea has been developed and refined for over 20 years now, which brings us the game world the Brood will be starting in. Parental Possibilities The following is a list of major super heores available as possible genetic material donors during the time the unnamed scientist was at large. This list is primarily heroes and is by no means exclusive. Genetic material was taken from several individuals who would be considered villains as well. Future players are encouraged to consult the game world history here. Members of (before 1973) the Avengers, the Fantastic four, the Justice Society, the Justice League, Infinity, Inc., the Teen Titians, the X-Men, the Defenders, the Suicide Squad, the Serpent Squadron(name?), the Outsiders, the New Mutants and Brotherhood of Evil. Non-affiliated comic characters include (off the top of my head) Hulk, She-Hulk, Batman II, Dr. Strange, Spiderman, Captain Marvel ( couple of them, actually), various alien Green Lantrans, Joker, Magneto, Luthor, Lobo, White Queen, Maxima, Quasar and, well, you get the idea. If you have a question as to whether a particular comic book character is an appropriate genetic donor, send your concept to me and we'll work things out together. |
