One would not expect much out of a Chinese restaurant located in a strip mall in east El Paso, but Pei Ting's
delivers a little more than expected. The Americanized fried meat topped with glop is very popular here, but
there do seem to be some good dishes.
One item I tried was the Hunan Tofu--the sauce was the best part.
The Hot and Sour Soup was average, and I had to ask for it (it was supposed to come with the lunch).
I did not like the Egg Roll at all--it tasted like the one at Peking Garden (filled with pork and not enough vegetables to give it a good flavor).
The biggest disappointment, though, is that there is no hot tea (but they will give you hot water if you bring your own tea bags).
The dinner menu is well overpriced for the quality of food, but lunches are pretty reasonable.
