Hangchow offers a fairly typical menu with the items that would normally be expected in an American
Chinese restaurant. I could not discern that the cuisine represented any particular region in China,
although Chow Fun noodle dishes are advertised as special dishes, and the menu also offers
noodle soups (something I tend to find only in the better quality Chinese restaurants).
Trying to choose between several types of sauce on the menu, the owner recommended Szechuan Style Tofu served with a spicy sauce. Although I did not think this was the type of authentic Sichuanese cuisine that is served in Bellevue and Redmond, I did think this was a very good sauce. It is not often that I am able to partake of a tofu dish that was prepared to be spicy, with the correct mixture of ingredients, rather than the kitchen just adding some chiles after the fact.
The Hot and Sour Soup was not worth order for an extra charge, but it was the only part of the meal with which I could find fault.
