Can’t Stop Going Backwards Turned into another “Stranded” Dream

I’ve never trusted ASB brakes.  I call them Anti-Stop Breaks.  For the masses I think they are the right thing because the masses instinct is to push the brake pedal through the floor and lock up all four tires and slide until the car either runs out of momentum or crashes, often the latter.  I’ve had skid pad training, and not only do I know how to find the spot just on the edge of losing traction and adjust to maintain it, for me it is the natural reaction.  Personally, I think instead of ABS breaks everyone should be required to undergo this training.  All that said, I have a deep distrust in the things and that distrust in part probably comes from having worked with computers for more than 35 years. Computers crash, cars crash, put them together and you have crash2. Seems like a bad idea.

I just woke out of a dream where my car would not allow me to apply the brakes when going backward.  In the dream, I went backwards for several miles without killing anyone or running into anything and ran out of momentum somehow ending up on a public walkway in the Seattle Centre.  (I spelled “centre” the British way because otherwise this stupid British English spell checker in Firefox bitches).

After finally coming to a stop, I got out of my car and walked about fifty foot away from it.  This was about all the time it took for Seattle Center to have it towed.  They told me it was at a lot a couple of blocks away.  I walked to that lot, they told me they didn’t have my car.  I walked back to the center, the guy told me he had told his brother to have it towed, so God only knows where my car is.  At that point I decided to call the police and report it stolen.  This is the point where I woke up, if you can call my current state awake.
