Part of the coal gasification plant at GasWorks Park, on Lake Union in Seattle, Washington operated by the Seattle Gas Light Company from 1906-1956.

     As I was editing this photo and listening to Art Bell’s Midnight In The Desert, they played Some Velvet Morning (Lee Hazelwood & Nancy Sinatra), and although this was evening and not morning, it still seemed like a pretty good fit given the colors.

     Around the Sound Band performing September 6th, 2015 at the Ballard Locks.  The flutist at the center with the long brown hair is my wife, Tina.

     I got little in the way of good photographs of the eclipse.  But I learned some photographic lessons from my mistakes.

     1) Remember to turn the image stabilization OFF when using a tripod.

     2) Remember the moon is MOVING with respect to the Earth and so long exposures don’t produce crisp images.  Use a wider F-stop and/or higher ISO if necessary.

     And… Bring a blanket or something…  It was COLD up on that hill last night.

I took a walk and explored the King’s Garden campus while I was waiting for tires to be replaced on my car. Some really nice architecture there.
